Completely Forgot

I'd completely forgotten about posting today until just now... It's surely been a whirl, with following up on meeting matters for a couple of days, doing Jim's eye drops, doing some end of month tasks before we head away, packing, and even retyping my packing lists (which I've been meaning to do for about 10 years). The lists were incredibly defaced with crossings out, additions and scribble. The things that were important way back when are not so important now - still the essentials stay the same, I guess. Good books, toothbrush, medications, and layers!

Unwinding

Yes, I'm trying to unwind after a fairly heavy half yearly meeting, and it's raining so couldn't get out for a walk. So, I've had some chocolate, started watching an episode of Lewis to switch off, and then did a standing workout with 70's music; gradually coming down from on high.... Raelene, the secretary, did a wonderful job keeping up with some tricky discussion - but everyone was kind and patient.

Now I can clear the paperwork off my back desks, and start accumulating stuff for our upcoming trip to Adelaide for a 10th birthday.

Tailem Bend main street. A regular first stopping place out off Adelaide, or a last stopping place before Adelaide.

A Late Nanna Nap

Three early starts on my first week back at the crossing, and suddenly at 5.30pm I had to have a nanna nap. I'd had a massage earlier in the day, so that might have contributed as well. Anyway, it was an easy evening meal - grilled fish, broccolini and chips from the fish and chip shop.

Last night we were out for a pub meal for a birthday, but home by 8.30pm, so that was good. And in the morning I'd met a computer technician person at the church office to help me make some changes to the computer set up, now the previous administrator has handed over to me. Bigger icons, larger text, calmer screen photo, delete unnecessary shortcuts...

So, a small meeting tomorrow afternoon, and the Half Yearly general meeting on Sunday, and things should calm down a bit. By then July will be nearly over and August plans will be upon us.

A Bit Late

Yes, I'm a bit late posting today; I had a computer printing and compiling job to do, and once I got started, I just kept going until it was finished. Jim helped with the stapling and folding. The Guild's 80th anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks, and this little project has been in the pipeline since the beginning of the year. I didn't have to write the whole thing; just added on the last five years since the 75th anniversary.

As I mentioned previously, I completed the set of travel folders last weekend, so that was another ongoing task that's now been completed.

The school crossing gear is back in the car, and the alarm has been set for some ungodly time in the morning... It's been so lovely to lie in for bit most mornings, snuggled up in a warm bed.  But I'm more than ready to get back into a regular routine, and get some messy parts of my life back on track.

Hectic

It's been feeling quite hectic for a few days.

Yesterday, my car was booked in for its quarterly detail at Steam and Clean. It really needed it after spending a few days at the panel beaters shed out in the dusty industrial area, with dusty tradies in and out of it.

Then Darren rang to say he'd be here first thing this morning to give the gutters their annual clean out, so we had to be on the ball this morning again.

I seem to have a lot of paperwork bits and pieces to attend to; got the power company plan updated this afternoon. Church paperwork from all the meetings is still ongoing - with LCA churchwide office sending out missives of things they want done....

I've finished off my travel albums from 2024.  Not sure I'll get round to posting about the last couple of days before we flew back to Australia.  I've run out of motivation in that regard, but very happy to have the albums finished and I can do a final file and sort of the photos on the laptop.

The Meetings Keep Coming

Yes, the meetings keep coming... Last Monday, a parish council meeting, this Monday, a congregational council meeting and in two weeks time a congregational half yearly general meeting. Last Saturday, we had a visit from the District; we had a good roll up to that one - over 40 people attended. Then there'll be a bit of a  break. Not much business, as such, but need to keep on top of correspondence and the thoughts and worries about the future from members. I was considering stepping aside as chairman of the congregation, so they could find someone with a bit more energy, but in the end I didn't raise it during the announcements.

Jim has the cataract in one of his eyes removed this coming Friday, and then it'll be time to pack the car up for Term 3 school crossing duty. It continues cold, grey and miserable here, but hopefully I'll get motivated to get a couple of things done this week.

Better a Bit

The dentist took some xrays, and couldn't find anything amiss, so I'm left with the sinusitis diagnosis. Gradually coming good with the antibiotics, and needing less pain killers. Have taken an interest in various tasks once again, but haven't ventured outside for a walk - the weather is just too horrendous at the moment.

My car is in at the panel beaters this week to get some rust removed, so Jim is happily chauffeuring me around the place.

Lousy

I was soo tired on Wednesday, now I'm just feeling plain lousy. Since Wednesday I've been brewing up some face pain - either sinusitis or a sore tooth. Got in to see the doctor yesterday, and he reluctantly gave me a script for antibiotics, which I didn't fill - but I did this morning, having woken up with a puffy face and more pain. And I'd used the maximum dose of panadol osteo in the 24 hour period.

Gave church a miss, and went back to bed for awhile this morning, resting and reading throughout the day. So, a face full of pain has been my life for the last few days... But all shall be well. By Tuesday, when I see the dentist, it might all be  over...

Soo Tired

I had a bad night's sleep, last night - following on from discussions with disputatious people at church. All solved amicably, but it's very wearing to be on high alert for what's being said, and what I'm saying in reply.

I enjoyed being social today at lunch with the guild women, at a local restaurant. Nothing disputatious going on there... So, no walking or workouts for a few days while time is being taken up on catch-ups, emails, phone calls, and cold weather.
